Overview

Progression through The Buried Sea is done through a quest arc named "A City in Peril". You will be given a Combine Signet Ring and as you complete the steps in progression it will steadily get better stats. The ring will continue to improve as you defeat raids in Solteris as well.

If at any point you forget where you are, tell Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun "guidance" and he will direct you to the next step on your path.

Step 1

Your journey begins with Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun, tell him "Pursue" to get your first "A City in Peril" task, which simply directs you to Associate Researcher Plik. Follow Plik's dialog and complete the Knowledge for Power group mission. Once complete, return to Elnot Waymun.

Step 2

Follow Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun's dialog, ending with "Travel there", to get your second "A City in Peril" task, this time directing you to Associate Researcher Maladoks. Follow the dialog and complete the Locating the Statue group mission. Once complete, return to Elnot Waymun. He will give another "A City in Peril" task sending you to Head Mage Antius. Give him the Etching Transcript you got from Locating the Statue. After following the dialog, and a short visit from the Avatar of Prexus, return again to Elnot Waymun.

Step 3

Follow Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun's dialog again, ending with "Shissar", to get the next "A City in Peril" sending you to Tactician Sodut. Sodut will send you on the group mission The Snakes are Hiding Something.

Step 4

After completing "The Snakes are Hiding Something", Sodut will give you the next group mission directly, Counter-Attack!.

Step 5

After completing "Counter-Attack!", Sodut will give you the next group mission directly, Confront Emperor Vaakiszh. With all 3 missions defeated you are flagged for access to Silyssar. Follow Sodut's dialong, ending with "proceed" to get the next "A City in Peril" directing you to Vizier Zio.

Step 6

Follow Vizier Zio's dialog, ending with "what goals", to get the next group mission Where There's a Will. Completing this mission grants you the ability to use the rings in Silyssar to access the pyramids.

Step 7

After completing "Where There's a Will", Zio offers the next mission, Slay the Serpent.

Step 8

After completing "Slay the Serpent", Zio offers the final mission, Stop the Ritual. Be sure to loot a Softly Glowing Runed Pendant off the Empress. When the mission is over Zio gives you one last "A City in Peril". Return to Prime Researcher Elnot Waymun, give him the Combine Signet Ring, and after the update give him the Pendant you looted. This upgrades the ring and grants you access to Solteris
