Sverag, Stronghold of Rage

Overview

Rare Mobs

Sverag is ... odd. One of the 13 races will control the zone and comprise the majority of the spawns. There is supposedly a way to force this to change, but as of yet nobody has solved the exact mechanism so typically the Bolvirks (giants) get control and never give it up.

There are 5 spawn points for static rare mobs which each have two different augment drops. There are 4 other points which are more complicated, each point can spawn up to 10 different rare mobs. Of those 10 they are split into two or three groups of three or four and each group has a shared loot pool. For example one spot can pop as Mindbinder, Alchemist Darkfall, Lord Zonz, and Svengor Goldfarb which all drop Ire-Forged Ringmail Cuirass or Hammer of Devastation. But, the same spot can also pop as Chief Star Eater, Chieftain Darkmaw, or General Vergomil which can drop Pauldrons of Bright Fire or Shattered Emberstone Fragment. If a rare spawns that is KoS to the race in control of the zone they will attack the normal mobs and can be killed, leaving no corpse or loot. Which set you get seems random but might be influenced by which race controls the zone. There is a 10th spot, marked S on the map, which spawns an array of "named" mobs, can even have 3 up at a time. These mobs don't drop loot but always drop a skin used for the Skin Saga quest which makes it a handy camp.

The respawn time in the zone is sporadic. I've seen mobs, even rares, respawn instantly, and I've seen it take 20 minutes between respawns.
