Kael Drakkkel is a Tier 1 zone reached from the Eastern Wastes. The zone is divided into three factions:

• Apparitions of Fear - all non-giants, killing them raises standing with both giant factions.
• Iceshard Manor - this covers the giants in the central horizontal third of the zone including the Iceshard Manor.
• Dragon Death Keep - this covers the giants in the arena to the north and the King area to the southwest.

Many quests require being non-KoS to the appropriate faction.

Rare Mobs

a diminutive kromrif

PH is "an upright kromrif". Buffs buff itself with Wrath of the Diminutive, a 600k rune and damage shield. If you do enough damage to break the rune, the party gets a 60k heal. If you don't break it in one minute the party takes a 150k AE.

a fey swarm

PH is "a fey delerium" and "a fey uniter". Roams the central hall, during the fight will spawn low health clones of itself, up to 7 at a time.

Derakor the Vindicator

PH is "a gaurdian of war". Paths along the bridge and summons 2 guardians when engaged. Buffs itself with a short duration attack and haste buff.
Drops - Dexterous Shoulderguards, Vengeful Mask, Spaulders of the Agile Mind, Veil of Anonymity

Doljek the Insane

PH is "an unbalanced kromzek". Buffs itself with Strikes of Insanity, a 200k rune for 30 seconds. If you break the rune it triggers a 55k AE with flux.
Drops - Mad Giant's Cloak, Doljek's Mantle of Ghost Thorns, Velium Spike of Madness

Evanescent Coronach

PH is "a fading dirge". Casts Eternal Blizzard, a 30k per tick dot with 60 curse counters. If the players health drops below 40% you are rooted, mezzed, and fd for 30 seconds.

Fjeka

PH is "a Drakkel dire wolf". Casts Feral Howl, a 12 second debuff that causes spells to fizzle. Drops - Snow Cord, Snowflake Sash of the Tundra, Fjeka's Fang

Fjokar Frozenshard

PH is " a storm giant of nobility". Every tick will cause a random player to face away then every 15 seconds will hit anybody facing away for 100k.
Drops - Ice Shard Lavalliere, Alaran Beads, Ice Crystal Riviere, Onyx Crescent

Gkrean Prophet of Tallon

PH is "High Priest of Tallon Zek". Heals itself frequently.
Drops - Gore Shield, Piceous Frost Band, Visage of the Prophet, Sable Band of the Wastes

Grungol the Eclipse

PH is "a penumbral coldain". Casts Feral Howl on a random player which summon them, roots them, and forces them to be Grungol's target.
Drops - Ice Plate Shoulderguards, Frost Spikes Pauldrons, Bow of Nature's Caress

Kallis Stormcaller

PH is "a Protector of War". Casts a 45k dd on tank every 45 seconds.
Drops - Ring of Frozen Fury, Iceflame Band, Stormcaller's Crystallized Lightning

Keldor Dek`Torek

PH is "a noble storm giant". Casts a 50k dd on random targets.
Drops - Keldor's Ornate Girdle, The Fabled's Cincture, Clairvoyant Orb

Kyenka

PH is "a visiting noble". Casts Glacial Drift, a short duration push, root, and 14k dot with 30 curse counters.
Drops - Kyenka's Stud, Kyenka's Tuned Spaulders, Shamanic Colussus' Jhumka, Shaman Goliath's Spaulders

Pakjol the Hungry

PH is "a Drakkel dire wolf pup". Casts a self buff that heals it for 75% of melee damage.
Drops - Chipped Amethyst, Stalwart Fear Amethyst, Pakjol's Appetite for Destruction

Reivaj the Battlerager

PH is "a frost giant berserker". Casts a self buff increasing haste and damage.

Semkak Prophet of Vallon

PH is "High Priest of Vallon Zek". Heals itself frequently.
Drops - Charm of the Prophet, False Prophet's Vanity, Inscrutable Talisman, Semkak's Meditative Cincture

Slagheart

PH is "a scalding mistdragon". Casts The Burning, a 36k dot with 30 curse counters that blocks cold spells and spreads virally.

The Avatar of War

PH is "Armor of War" to spawn Statue of Rallos Zek. Killing Statue spawns Idol of Rallos Zek then finally Avatar. Avatar buffs with Defensive Paean of War which mitigates incoming damage.

Yetarr

PH is "a visiting noble". Casts a 40k dd with 10k dot. Drops - Unending Loop of the Undead, Steadfast Spirited Backplate, Yetarr's Fine Dangle, Yetarr's Stonewall Cloak

Tasks

Mercenary Tasks

• + Taking Out the Trash - Bjorik the Heartstrong - one of them
  • Kill 8 coldain (in the King's wing) or fairies (found all over) then return to Bjorik.
• + Paranoia, It's Out to Get You! - Faffnar Wolfsbane - survive
  • Kill 7 prowlers (wolves) then return to Faffnar.
• + One Step Forward, Two Steps Back - Baffod the Wayward - help
  • Kill any 9 giants, but be mindful of faction, then return to Baffod.
• + Drowning the Memories - Kjelnor - help
  • Kill 7 kedge mobs (in the King's wing) and return to Kjelnor.
• + Weight of a Worthy Heart - Kvojik - hearts
  • Kill each type of mob until you get a task update, no physical objects to loot, then return to Kvojik.
• + The Early Bird Gets the Wurm - Gleed Dragonhunter - challenge
  • Kill 6 dragon type mobs in the arena then return to Gleed.
• + A Well Regulated Militia - Nojas Blackfist - do
  • Start by hailing Nojas then Bjoskhua Blackfist. Next up kill 4 a drunken faerie on the west side of the zone and click the barrel they are around to get some ale. Give this to Merc McFader, talk to Nojas, then back to Merc and say Ready.
  • Merc will give you a pet, this will conflict with actual pets so it is suggested to suspend any pets first. Using the pet you need to kill 3 mobs:
    • a ritualist of Tallon Zek
    • a ritualist of Vallon Zek
    • a ritualist of Rallos Zek
  • Click your Flask of Kromrif Ale multiple times to get the pet really drunk, this will cause them to proc an attack which damages the shields on ritualists. Eventually the barriers will be broken and you can kill them. Once all 3 are dead return to Merc then Nojas.
• + Bring Out Your Dead - Welverd Steelbairn - deal
  • When you get the task you are given a piece of apparition flesh. Click it for a 4 minute buff that lets you see certain mobs. With the buff active kill 6 soul scavenger and 2 giant soul eaters which spawn near the giant corpses around the zone. You can get another apparition flesh by killing apparitions, if the buff fades it will kill you. Once you kill the mobs return to Welverd.
• + Madness Reigns (g) - Kiltar - investigate
  • This is a group task.
  • Speak with Egarik
    • Talk with Egarik.

  • Speak with Bjoskhua Blackfist
    • Kill any 3 coldain and talk to Bjoskhua.
  • Kill some Extinct Kedge
  • Speak with Nojas Blackfist
    • Kill any 6 kedge and talk to Nojas.
  • Kill either Fey Deleriums or Fey Uniters
  • Speak with Yngvie
    • Kill any 3 faries and talk to Yngvie.
  • Kill some daemonic lorespawns
  • Speak with Kiltar
    • Kill any 4 daemonic lorespawn and talk to Kiltar.
  • Deal with Jainar
  • Loot Jainar's Sword
  • Give Jainar's Sword to Kiltar
  • Speak with Kiltar
    • Kill Jainar, loot the sword, give it to Kiltar then hail to finish the task.
• + Masters of Fear (g) - Falmonius (PoK) - find out
  • This requires Stalking the Shadows in Crystal Caverns and is a shared task.
  • Use the Wand of Shocking on Hurble
  • Speak with Hurble
    • In Eastern Wastes go to Hurble in the northeast area and click the Wand.

  • Find and defeat the Cazicite, Jyain
  • Loot the Shadowed Rune Fragment from Jyain's corpse
  • Find and defeat the Cazicite, Utyrin Gafon
  • Loot the Shadowed Rune Fragment from Utyrin Gafon's corpse.
  • Find and defeat the Cazicite, Kion
  • Loot the Shadowed Rune Fragment from Kion's corpse
  • Find and defeat the Cazicite, Relind
  • Loot the Shadowed Rune Fragment from Relind's corpse
    • Inside Kael Drakkel locate the 4 mobs Jyain, Utyrin Gafon, Kion, and Relind. Kill them and loot a fragment from each.
  • Give the Shadowed Rune Fragments to Hurble
  • Speak with Hurble
    • Back to Eastern Wastes and give the fragments to Hurble.
  • Find and speak with the Cazicite leader, Nalain Gartand
  • Defeat Nalain Gartand
  • Speak with Falmonius
    • Head south to find Nalain Gartand. Kill it then back to Falmonius to complete the task.

Partisan Tasks

• + Deliver Us Unto Evil - Captain Bvellos - willing
  1. Steal the goods that the couriers in Kael are carrying
  2. Find evidence on the couriers that reveals their distribution source
  3. Deliver the stolen weapons to Captain Bvellos
  4. Show Captain Bvellos the note from Svekk
     • Throughout Kael Drakkel and kill couriers until you loot 4 Fearforged Daggers. The next courier killed will drop A Note From Svekk. Head back to Bvellos and give him the daggers and note.
  5. Ask Svekk Fangbinder if you can work for him
  6. Tell Drjek that Svekk has sent you to transport crystal
     • Head northwest a bit and hail Svekk Fangbinder then back to Eastern Wastes to find Drjek north of the entrance to Kael Drakkel.
  7. Kill 3 coldain marauders
  8. Hail Drjek and receive the shipment of crystal
     • Kill 3 "a Coldain marauder" which spawn near Drjek, then hail Drjek again.
  9. Head to Wevek Redforge and confront anything that impedes your progress
  10. Kill 2 hostile apparitions
      • Back into Kael and find Wevek Redforge, two apparitions should spawn (if not, wait a bit), and kill them.
  11. Deliver the large crystal sliver to Wevek Redforge
  12. Ask Wevek Redforge what he knows about the crystal deliveries
  13. Tell Bvellos what you learned from Svekk Fangbinder
      • Give the crystal you got from Drjek to Wevek, hail it, then back to Bvellos to complete the task.
• + Them Bones - Rejnak Coldspear - willing

  1. Find out what Rejnak Coldspear wants to give you
  2. Enter Iceshard Manor
     • Hail Rejnak to get a gem then head to the Iceshard Manor, southeast of the central hub.
  3. Listen to the grievances of your skeleton
  4. Kill your skeleton to reclaim your bones. To make it attack, get close to it 4 times when it stops running
     • The skeleton will give various emotes, when it say something about stopping run up to it. Repeat the process until it finally attacks then kill it.
  5. Speak to Klaggan Iceshard about his plans and the Dragon Eye Gem
  6. Speak to Vorken Iceshard about his plans and the Dragon Eye Gem
  7. Use the power of the Dragon Eye Gem to discover Klaggan's plans
  8. Use the power of the Dragon Eye Gem to discover Vorken's plans
  9. Ask Klaggan's skeleton what it knows
  10. Ask Vorken's skeleton what it knows
  11. Kill Klaggan`s Unruly Skeleton
  12. Kill Vorken`s Unruly Skeleton
      • Head to Klaggan Iceshard, hail it. Do the same with Vorkken. Right click the gem on Klaggen, hail Klaggen's skeleton, then kill it. Repeat the process with Vorken.
  13. Tell Rejnak Coldspear what you discovered
  14. Discover the Iceshard brothers' connection to the trouble in Kael
      • Return too Rejnak and hail it. The task should complete if everything is complete.

  1. Speak with Drenlo Helmright and find out how to take weapons from the giants
  2. Confront a thieving acolyte and see if you can recover one of the Blessed Swords
  3. Kill 1 thieving acolyte
  4. Recover a Blessed Sword of Strategic Combat
  5. Tell Drenlo Helmright that you have recovered a Blessed Sword of Strategic Combat
     • First hail Drenlo Helmright in the north then look around for a thieving acolyte. They are non-kos, hail one and it attacks. Kill it (can cast fear), loot the sword, and return to Drenlo.
  6. Disarm several giants using the Blessed Sword of Strategic Combat
  7. Pick up the dropped crystal weapons before someone else does
  8. Ask Drenlo Helmright what you should do with the recovered crystal weapons
     • Go looking for giants with glowing purple weapons. Beat one down to 30% health, equip the Blessed Sword of Strategic Combat, and right click to cause them to drop the weapon. Quickly run to the weapon and it appears on your cursor. Repeat the process 5 times then hal Drenlo.
  9. Throw the crystal weapons into the holy bonfires
  10. Kill anything that tries to prevent you from destroying the weapons
  11. Tell Noble Helssen that the weapons have been destroyed
      • Head to a holy bonfire and right click one of the weapons and an apparition will spawn and attack. Repeat this process for all 5 weapons then report back to Helssen.
  12. Speak to King Tormax
  13. Weaken King Tormax and knock the axe out of his hand
  14. Inform Noble Helssen that you failed to take the axe from King Tormax
      • Head to the throne room and hail King Tormax. Beat him down to 60% (but not down to 50%), equip the Sword, and right click it to try and disarm him. He will port you back to Helssen, hail him to complete the task.
