The Library

Overview

The Library is connected to and from House of Thule lower levels. There are 8 rares with uniquely named phs that have more interesting spells than most of the expansion. In addition to the drops from rares trash can drop any of the All/All visible items:

Rare Mobs

Archivist Herrdar
PH is "a lanquid poetry teacher". Hits for up to 9500 and casts:
  • Catalogue - 300 dot that fades if you attack. If you don't remove it, Herrdar follows up with a 33k dd.

Ardull the Watcher
PH is "an ethereal watcher". Hits for up to 9500 and casts:
  • Gathering Rage - a 40k rune. If this rune isn't broken in 30 seconds, Ardull follows up with a 50k PBAE. If it is broken it only casts a 20k PBAE.

For this task you need to hail 5 scholars around the zone:

You can hail them in any order and do so while invis, but whichever is last will attack so be sure to clear the area before the final hail. The scholar is no harder than trash and drops a book, Vol. 791. Loot this and give it to Kintorom to complete the task.

History of the World, Part 2

For this task you need to collect 5 groundspawn books:

The 6th book you need is dropped by an enraged historian. This mob is only KoS if you have the task and don't have Vol 588, which it drops. It will race towards anybody with the task from quite a distance but won't have social agro, so be sure to be in a safe spot to fight and it will come solo. Give all six books to Kintorom and hail him to complete the task.

This is a shared task.

Your first step is to locate Assistant Librarian Vesrad to the northeast. Hail him to get a book (can do this invis) and give it tot Kintorom. Then return to Vesrad and clear the area. When you hail him again 2 library watchers spawn and attack. Thye hit around 6500 each and the task locks after the second dies. With both dead hail Vesrad once more and he attacks as well, hits for 7000 but nothing special. Finally just hail Kintorom to complete the task.

Book Hunt

This task requires you to locate 10 books from around the zones. The first 9 are ground spawns:

The 10th book, Fallen Gods, is the reward from the separate task below, You Spoony Bard. After recovering all 10 return them to Risald to complete the task.

After getting the task from Athmos in the Grounds collect 4 items from trash: Cape is from rotdogs (1 in 4), Lute from bone golems (1 in 3), Satchel from mulch cubes (1 in 4), and Rapier from bixies (1 in 4). The items can not be prelooted. Give the 4 items to Athmos to complete the task and get Fallen Gods from the Book Hunt task.
