Demiplane of Blood

Trash and Minis

To zone into the instance click on the right statue, with the sword facing down. There are a pair of zonewide AE in Demiplane (real ones, not like the lore one in Anguish). The strength of it depends on how many buff blockers you have turned in:

  1. Aura of Crimson Mists I - Reduce stats, attack, poison and disease resists by 200, 20 hp/mana per tick drain.
  2. Aura of Crimson Mists II - Reduce stats, attack, poison and disease resists by 150, 15 hp/mana per tick drain.
  3. Aura of Crimson Mists III - Reduce stats, attack, poison and disease resists by 100, 10 hp/mana per tick drain.
  4. Aura of Crimson Mists IV - Reduce stats, attack, poison and disease resists by 50, 5 hp/mana per tick drain.
and
  1. Mire of Crimson Mists I - 30% snare.
  2. Mire of Crimson Mists II - 20% snare.
  3. Mire of Crimson Mists III - 10% snare.

The AE is recast every five minutes so curing it is not an effective option. Some of the trash can randomly, and rarely, drop one of the four buff blockers:

See here for details on turning them in.

After a certain amount of trash a mini boss can spawn:

Maggotmiser
Hits for 6500. Casts Dark Maggots, rear arc AE dealing 8500 damage.
Ur-Gorloch
Hits for 4500 and single Rampage. Procs Orc Frenzy, a PBAE 1125 dd and 10 second stun.
Swirling Bloodspirit
Hits for 4500 and single Rampage. Procs Orc Frenzy, a PBAE 1125 dd and 10 second stun.
Madrillah the Ancient
Hits for 4500, but no spells.
Legionnaire Silkbinder
No fight data
It seems that they spawn based on which bosses are down but the exact details are unknown. Each mini has it's own 5 day lockout. When killed they drop one of the following augments:

Zi-Thuuli of the Granite Claw

While clearing trash randomly Zi-Thuuli of the Granite Claw appears along with the emote, "Caught by surprise, mortals?". Zi-Thuuli hits for up to 7k, has a single target rampage, and casts:

In addition to getting tossed around by those he will target a handful of people (roughly once a minute?) with, Spreading Stone. This turns you into a Gargoyle and you have around 30 seconds to get it cured (16 curse counters) or eat a 32k deathtouch. When you bring him to 55% health he despawns. Resume clearing trash and he will appear again at random at full health, same fight, drop him to 50% and he despawns again. Repeat the process to 45%. On the fourth spawn you kill him for good. If you wipe at any point, or push him off the edge of the pathway, the event resets fully and you need to get all four cycles.

When killed it spawns a chest which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! Zi-Thuuli's corpse will contain 6 Rune-Etched Stone for blocking the zone AE. The chest contains 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Sanguimanus the Redfang

In the bat tower when the final screecher bat is killed on the ground floor Redfang will spawn at a window on the ramp. When he is agro'd 4 blooddrinker bats spawn one at a time. These adds hit for 2200 each, are immune to mez and root, proc a 3750 point lifetap, and respawn if killed. Redfang itself hits for 5000, single target rampage, and has 2 spells:

  • Siphon of Vitae - 5500 point lifetap, apparently cast on all in melee range when Redfang moves.
  • Sonic Screech - Directional AE hitting all in front with Silence, 1500 dd, and 1000 dot.

Four minutes from the initial spawn Redfang despawns and a multitude of voracious bats spawn on people (regardless of location, someone afk a zone in could have a bat spawn on them). These bats hit for 1200 each and flurry, but can be AE stunned and if hit with a root die nearly instantly. You have one minute before Redfang respawns, still damaged and unagro. If left alone too long the event resets and you must start over. The cycle repeats (4 minutes, despawn and adds, 1 minute, respawn) until killed. The blooddrinker bats do not despawn during the voracious bat phase, but do despawn when Redfang dies.

When killed it spawns a chest which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! Redfang's corpse will contain 6 Congealed Blood of Redfang for blocking the zone AE. The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Wailing Sisters

For most people in the raid this event will be about clearing trash. You set up outside the quarters and pull all the trash out as it spawns. The werewolf trash will charm while the bats respawn Very quickly, so you'll want to have enchanters lock them down for the duration of the event. The meat of the event is handled by the sisters team. There are 3 sisters; Althea, Brenda, and Christine and each want you to spy on the others. When hailed a sister will give an emote about what she is doing and then ask what one of the other sisters is up to. There are 10 possible actions, which will be capitalized in the emote:

  • CONSPIRING
  • CRYING QUIETLY
  • DEAD RAT
  • DIARY
  • LETTER OPENER
  • POISONOUS SUBSTANCE
  • SABOTAGING
  • SCOPING
  • SPYING
  • WOODEN STAKE

For example:
Althea is CONSPIRING with several werewolves, whispering and motioning towards the rooms of the other Sisters.
Althea says 'What is Christine up to?'

You will need a person following each sister (ideally with tracking as they can warp around). These people will need to coordinate so that they can answer their sister's questions. In the above example, the person following Christine would tell the raid what Christine emoted, and the person following Althea would /say to Althea the capitalized bit. Likewise if Brenda or Christine asked what Althea was up to, the one following them would "/say Conspiring". You have 25 minutes to gather enough evidence on two of the sisters to get them kicked out, conflicting reports on if this is 8 or 10 emotes per sister.

Periodically you will get a white emote this sisters are about to move. When they do this the information about what they are doing is no longer valid, meaning if you saw Christine SPYING and Althea wanted to know what Christine was up to, but they changed places before you did the /say, it won't work. Also, the person speaking to a sister must not inform on that sister to another. For example, if a player tells Althea what Christine is up to that player will not be able to get information directly from Christine any longer. This isn't a big deal for a full raid with dedicated players per sister, but makes doing the event with low numbers much more difficult.

While doing all these hails the raid will be pulling and clearing any trash that spawns. Additionally the hailers can be hit with two spells, a 4k dd with stun and a 2250 dot with 50 poison counters, so be sure they have heals/cures available.

When two sisters are incriminated a "Sister`s handbag" spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! It contains 6 Sister's Handkerchief for blocking the AE, 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Hatchet the Torturer

Hatchet start the event rooted in place, hits for around 6500, has AE rampage for 1500, and two spells:

  • Sturdy Stance - Self buff which increases his atk by 100 and all resists by 200. Keep this dispelled.
  • Wild Arc - 31 range PBAE 900 dd and flux.

Throughout the event Hatchet will trigger emotes which must be followed :

Hatchet locks eyes with you and snorts, pawing at the blood-stained tile with his hooves. He's about to charge directly at you!
You must run away from Hatchet for 25 seconds while he chases you. If he catches you a 50 range PBAE goes off dealing 100,000 to all.
Hatchet levels his axe at your upper body and prepares to swing. You should duck.
You need to duck until you get Hatchet's axe passes harmlessly overhead, or take 100,000 damage.
Hatchet lifts his axe high, preparing to bring it down upon you. You should hide between his legs.
You must stand beneath him until you get By darting between Hatchet's hooves, he has no way to strike you., or you take 100,000 damage
Hatchet hefts a weighted throwing axe in his offhand and readies to throw it in your direction. You should get as far away as possible.
You need to run to the opposite side of the room until you get You outdistance the reach of the throwing axe, and it clatters to the floor harmlessly, or take 100,000 damage.

While avoiding emotes traps will spawn in the room. If a player runs over the trap it will trigger Rusting Clamp, a PBAE 6k dd, 2k dot, and root. After Hatchet does his first charge emote (regardless if he hits or not) he will be unrooted for a period of time. After a bit he will emote Hatchet the Torturer adopts a stationary stance again. and become rooted until his next charge emote. While he is mobile bring him over a trap and click it to knock him to the ground giving you some free time to dps. This will also spawn a few skeletons (enraged and tortured). The enraged are the harder of the two. Each time Hatchet is knocked down his health can be brought down another 20%. After he is trapped 4 times you no longer need to trap him and instead just get occasional skeleton adds.

When killed it spawns a chest which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! Hatchet's corpse will contain 6 Shrunken Head for blocking the zone AE. The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Roley and Adrianna

To trigger this event kill the 10 dancers in the ballroom, at which point both Roley DeFarge and Adrianna spawn. I don't have melee info for Roley, but I'd guess around 5k. He casts 3 spells:

Don't have melee info for Adrianna either, but she casts 5 spells:
  • Blood Infusion - Self buff increasing stats, resists, haste, run speed, and damage.
  • Blood Barbs - Self buff 750 point damage shield.
  • Bloodlick - Single target 1500 dd and stun.
  • Curse of Darkness - 37 range PBAE 2500 dd and 2300 dot.
  • Waking Dream - a charm which also gives the charmed player a proc dealing 500 damage, draining 500 mana, and stun.

Your goal here is to offtank Roley and dps Adrianna until she goes non-KoS and gives one of three statements (only showing the start):

There is a small battered chest
Say "show" to teleport to the library. You'll find 4 mobs with rear facing AEs and a number of chests. (at least some can be mezzed, can all?) Have a rogue find the untrapped chest and open it to loot a splintering weapon.
There is a coffin
Say "show" to teleport to the crypt. You'll find 4 mezzable mobs and a number of coffins. Have a rogue find the untrapped chest and open it to loot a splintering weapon.
There is a cache of ancient weapons
Say "show" to teleport to the laboratory. You'll find 3 drachnids and a zombie. Kill the zombie and loot a splintering weapon.
If any trapped chest is hit Fine Red Mist goes off, an AE 2250 dot. Beat the untrapped chest and loot a splintered weapon at which point anybody that went will get ported back, but anybody that was rezzed inside might get bugged and left behind. The splintered weapons come in 3 varieties which must be looted by specific classes: After porting back Adrianna will become KOS again and you can resume dps until she gives another statement. You'll need a total of 10 weapons.

While dps'ing Roley at 90% he will give an emote about going prone. At this point someone needs to use their Splintering weapon on him. Failure to do so results in him regenerating back 10% health. If you get the click in time you can take him down an additional 10%, going prone again at 80%, 70%, etc, until a final stake at 0% wins the event. Roley starts the event unrooted, however after the first click at 90% he becomes rooted in place. As such it is suggested to dps Adrianna, recover a splintered weapon, take Roley a bit out of the way, dps him to 90%, click to root him, then let him regen to full health so he ca be range tanked without summoning, while the raid farms an additional 9 weapons. Then burn Roley down clicking each 10%.

When completed a chest spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Additionally Roley's Spirit will give out Bloodstained Mirror to a Monk or Necromancer while Adrianna's Spirit will give a Dalur Ak-Daal to a Berserker or Shadowknight. These will be useful during the fight against Mayong.

Tris Wallow III

The Tris Wallow fight starts when you say, "We will help you". She cycles through 3 forms with the emote Tris Wallow III shudders, as if she is about to change forms:

Werewolf Form
She enters this form at the start of the fight. She hits for 4500, flurries, and procs a charm. After the first time, each time she enters this form she summons a number of werewolf adds. Coerced can be mezzed while Ravenous are immune. In this form dps her normally.
Non-KoS Human
After switching from werewolf form she resumes being human and stops attacking. In this form you can cast heals on her.
KoS Human Form
After the Non-KoS phase she resumes attacking, procs a PBAE stun, and will emote to people:
Tris stares deeply into your eyes, and you feel her taking over your mind.  You should look away.
If you get this emote you need to face away or you will be mezzed or charmed. She also summons addd. Kill adds but do NOT dps her in this form!

Throughout the event Tris will occasionally proc a charm (Frothing Curse) which lasts for 90 sec, increases haste, and gives a 1500dd proc. 45 curse counters. After 3 complete cycles she will summon Orc adds. Offtank adds during Werewolf Form and focus on dps, then on Human forms take out the adds. Your goal for the event is to dps hard during the werewolf phase and heal during the human phase, once she is at 100% health in human form cast Remove Greater Curse on her (don't use other cures, even higher level versions, only RGC). After RGC lands her health goes down a bit and will need to be healed back to full. Repeat this proces 5 times to fully cure her and you win.

When completed a chest spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Additionally Tris Wallow's Spirit will give out a Jagged Silver Shortsword to a Rogue or Enchanter and a Firestarter Wand to a Wizard or Magician. These will be useful during the fight against Mayong.

Devlin Rochester

When Devlin starts the event he will walk to his weapon rack and select one of four setups:

Two Daggers
This is the most direct setup. In this form Devlin hits hard, can flurry, and can proc an 8k dd. That's it, just lots of heals and burn burn burn.
Axe and Shield
This form has a spell shield (see below) and Devlin has AE rampage. Nothing else.
Scepter and Shield
In this form Devlin has a spell shield (see below) and will emote Devlin lobs a glass vial exactly where Rasper is standing. This creates a bottle on the ground where the player is standing and shortly after a 25 range PBAE goes off. Reportedly you can pick up and destroy the bottle to prevent the AE, but I can not confirm this. This emote can go off multiple times, so be prepared to move. He also procs Corrupted Water, a 2500 dd, 750 dot, small mana drain.
Whip
In this form Devlin has a spell shield (see below) and will send personal emotes:
  • You should remove your weapon. - Remove your primary slot or take 10,000 damage.
  • You should duck. - Duck or take 6k dd, 1500 dot, and silence.
He also procs Twenty Lashes, a 5k dd.

In all but the Two Daggers form Devlin has a spell shield up which can refect player spells. To bring the shield down you need to alternate between a Cold based nuke and a Fire based nuke. Keep alternating until you get an emote, Devlin Rochester says 'Arggh! Rasper shattered my shield!. Then you are free to dps at will. Weapon procs can potentially screw this up as well.

Devlin will keep the weapon setup for a period of time (how long?) and then emote Devlin Rochester frowns and discards his weaponry, 'You have been lucky thus far. Leave this place at once before it becomes your tomb!' . He will go non-agro, walk to the weapon rack, and choose a random setup (can repeat). When he selects the weapons a large AE goes off in the room, so Everybody needs to run into the hall to avoid it.

Additionally zombies and red skeletons spawn in the hall and walk towards the room to attack the raid. The zombies can be killed, but explode (43 range PBAE 12k dd). The red skeletons however only stay dead for 30 seconds and should be stun locked. Reportedly these can be pushed off the balcony to get rid of them. Keep a group outside locking down adds. They despawn when the event is completed.

When completed a chest spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Additionally Devlin's Spirit will give out a Vial of Blessed Water to a Cleric or Paladin and a Vampire Killer to a Warrior or Ranger. These will be useful during the fight against Mayong.

The Performer

In this event you protect The Performer and his band from an onslaught of trash while helping them sing their songs. If The Performer survives for 18 minutes, you win. Roughly once a minute an emote will fire about a bell sounding followed by a wave of trash, Orcs, Werewolves, and Drachnids. About a third of the way into the event a named orc, Blueblood, will come with trash. It hits for 4500 with AE rampage. About two thirds of the way through a named drachnid, The Spinstress, will come with trash. It hits 4500 and AEs a 2500 dd with 1k dot, an 85% snare and 35% spell slow, and a single target 1300 dd which roots and mana drain on fade. If you make it to the 18 minute mark the event ends, the chest spawns, and all the adds (including named) despawn.

While managing the stream of mobs the 4 members of the band will send out targeted emotes, first a general emote in yellow like
Britton recites a line of her song and beckons for you to approach her and sing the next line.

Following that will be an emote in blue/teal like
Until suddenly,

All four npc emotes contain the phrase "beckons for you to approach" if you wish to set up an audio trigger. When you get an emote you must turn attack off, target the member that sent you the emote, and /say the next line of their song. If you do this within 15 seconds or so you get a yellow emote of success. If you fail to do so you get mezzed and The Performer takes damage. He does regenerate over time so you can miss a few (for example a main tank or assist might not be able to just go do their line), but miss too many too often and Performer dies and event fails.

Trying to type out the exact line without typos isn't exactly realistic so you'll want to have hotkeys set up beforehand. Load up your character and erase any hotkeys you have in the socials on pages 8 and 9 then camp all the way out of EQ (character select screen won't work). Open up This Page (opens in a new window). Now go to your base Everquest directory and find the ini file for your character, charactername_servername.ini, for example mine is Atlane_selo.ini Open the file and scroll down to the section labeled [Socials] You'll see all of your hotkeys, scroll to the end of that section and paste in everything on This Page. Save the file (depending on your OS and editor, you may need to do "Save As" and select UTF-8 encoding). The next time you log into EQ the socials page 8 and 9 hotkey banks should be set up. When you get an emote run to The Performer and hit the top hotkey with the name of the band member that sent the emote to target them, then hit the hotkey under which matches the start of the line they sang to you. So if Aelfric sends you an emote saying "Dreaming with me", you will hit the AELFRIC button to target, then Dreaming button to /say "Please,".

When completed a chest spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! The chest contains a backflag (counts as all 5 blood raids), 2 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

Additionally The Performer's Spirit will give out a Gold Chime of Resonance to a Bard or Beastlord and a Glimmering Dawnstone to a Shaman or Druid. These will be useful during the fight against Mayong.

Mayong Mistmoore

When you make your way to the end you find The Master of Dreadspire. Have someone trigger him to start the event (details below). Mayong is non-agro at first as 7 Named mobs activate over time:

While clearing named you can use the bane items given out by the Tier 2 bosses, the banes have a 12 minute reuse so classes not listed should save for the Mayong fight:
  • Warrior and Rangers - Damage to gargoyles, about 10%
  • Monk and Necromancer - Damage to gargoyles, about 40%
  • Cleric and Paladin - Damage to drachnid
  • Rogue and Enchanter - Damage to werewolf

5 Minutes after triggering the event Mayong goes active and attacks. He hits for over 4500 with single target rampage. He can proc a 2200 dd, as well as boost himself with Blood Infusion, an increase to haste, damage, resists, stats, and run speed. Be sure to dispel this whenever it is cast. For the remainder of the fight every 2 minutes a swarm of voracious bats spawn. These are the same as you faced on Redfang, root them and they die. You will also randomly get a single trash spawn which needs to be picked up and killed. Periodically Mayong will become either "Distracted" or "Vulnerable". This is the time to use your bane weapon clicks. When Vulnerable he can be hit with one bane click, while Distracted he can be hit with three. The effect of the click is based on which class does it:

  • Shadowknight and Berserker - Decreases Mayong's mitigation by 15% each click, up to 3 times. Only on Vulnerable?
  • Bard and Beastlord - Increases the time between voracious bat waves by 30 seconds each when Distracted and 60 seconds when Vulnerable.
  • Monk and Necromancer - Increases the frequency of Distracted/Vulnerable phases
  • Mage and Wizard - Flat 4% when Distracted and 8% damage when Vulnerable
  • Rogue and Enchanter - Use on named at start
  • Warrior and Ranger - Use on named at start
  • Paladin and Cleric - Use on named at start
  • Druid and Shaman - Stun and allows for slow to land with less mitigation

Someone should decide before the event what clicks will help your specific raid setup the most and call out for specific people at specific times so that you don't get any wasted clicks.

DPS Mayong to 50%, handling bat waves and single adds as they come. At 50% he gains a new ability, an emote will go off:
The Master raises his sword

At this point Everybody except the MT needs to hide behide a pillar out of sight of Mayong or get far away. Anybody in Line of Sight and within range will be hit for 100,000 damage. Continue to dps, handling bats, adds, and dodging AE deathtouch until 20%. At this point Mayong starts to randomly charm people. If you have any Mage/Wizard with banes and an opening comes up, now is the time. Burn your way through to 0 and you win.

When completed everybody in the dz is granted all 5 blood curse AA and a chest spawns which is locked and trapped, have a rogue disarm it! The chest contains 3 ancient runes, a chance at a Last Blood, and 3 of the following:

You also get a bonus loot dependant on what answers were given to the AE Blocker NPCs by the person that triggered the event. Be aware that once you have triggered and defeated Mayong you can't be the one to trigger him again.
